WeatherBug® Receives 2007 New Business Partner of the Year Award from ESRI

ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference, Palm Springs, Calif. – WeatherBug®, the leading provider of live, local weather information, announced today that it has received ESRI's 2007 New Business Partner of the Year Award for the Washington D.C. region. The award was presented on March 18th at the ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference held in Palm Springs, California.

ESRI, the world leader in geographic information system (GIS) modeling and mapping software and technology, chose WeatherBug as the recipient of the award for their commitment to ESRI and GIS technology. Recipients of the New Business Partner of the Year Award must meet the standards of excellence expected by ESRI.

"Since becoming an ESRI partner in 2006, WeatherBug has succeeded at increasing the value of GIS with live, local weather data by creating new and innovative products," said Paul Hartwell, ESRI regional office manager for the Washington D.C. office. "We congratulate WeatherBug on winning this prestigious award and look forward to continuing to work with them as they launch new services and bring on new customers."

Also announced at the conference was the launch of WeatherBug's GIS Data Services, the only GIS-based web service that integrates live data from WeatherBug's Network of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations located across the country. WeatherBug's GIS Data Services enable live weather and other key operating information to be easily implemented into customers existing mapping systems. Specific components included in the GIS Data Services are current surface weather plots and contours, forecast surface weather, radar and satellite, tropical weather and severe weather alerts.

"WeatherBug is proud to be honored by ESRI as the 2007 New Business Partner of the Year," said Christian Solomine, business development manager, WeatherBug. "When we began working with ESRI technology as a customer over two years ago, we felt the ESRI platform was strategic to the growth of our GIS initiatives. We expanded this relationship in 2006, becoming an authorized business partner and are planning to continue the partnership long into the future. Together with ESRI, we can effectively expand the value of how weather data is integrated into GIS technology and is enhanced by it."
